Dear Friends,
It’s hard to believe that we are welcoming you to our 40th Annual Sale. A lot of
cattle have gone through our sale ring in the last 39 sales, to virtually every corner of
this country. We have done business with lots of very good people, both commercial
producers and pure bred breeders. It been a pleasure to meet and visit with each of
you.
A lot has changed in the purebred business since our first sale in 1974. It used
to be so simple to market bulls when you selected only on pedigree and eye appeal.
Now you have to add a boatload of performance and carcass data to those two things.
In the near future more information will be added to the mix, through DNA testing.
We are doing our best to keep up with it all, and give you the best seed stock we
can. With all of the data we’ve collected over the years, I can honestly say that the
Hereford breed is better than it has ever been in my lifetime.
This year’s sale is packed with good individuals from beginning to end, and I am
especially high on the yearling bull calves. They have the look and performance that
the breed needs. Carcass data will be available on them by sale day.
The two year old bulls are big, stout and athletic. You can turn these guys out
with lots of cows and they’ll do the job. They ran on grass all summer and have been
getting lots of roughage this winter.
The bred heifers are a real nice group. You can select an individual from the bunch,
or get a trailer load to start a herd. Either way, I feel you will be getting females to
build a herd around.

of this catalog. A video of each animal in the
sale will be on our website or on DV Auction
website in mid February. Of course, you may
