Willard is a rough-and-ready sort of horse with
tons of personality. He’s a finished, jack-pot
heel horse and loves his job! No matter what
the task, moving cows, working in the arena,
racing a competitor across the hay meadow or
traversing a tough trail, Willard always seems
to keep his eyes on the prize. We’ve ridden him
double, triple and quadruple, bareback, ponying
four horses at a time behind him, and swimming
in snow-melt ponds. There have been days that
the moving cows required going up and down places that made the rider start
to pray, and Willard kept his head and his feet and never quit once. He knows
his business! He side-passes easily both directions, will lope a soft circle in
the arena and has a nice start on flying lead changes. Ridden by Hannah True.

Consigned by Pete Transtrom: “Chief is a big
boned, 6-year-old gray gelding. He is very well-
mannered and gentle for both young and old.
Chief neck reins, stops, backs and sidepasses
effortlessly. He rides off on a loose rein but isn’t
lazy if there is a job to be done. Chief can be
laid off for long periods of time and pick up right
where you left off, which makes him an excellent
choice for either ranching or trail riding.” For
