Lazy T Ranch is located in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota,
near Hot Springs. It is owned and operated by Brad & Trixie Grill along
with our two children, Braden and Brylee. We raise a registered herd of
Red Angus, while managing a large commercial herd. Since the begining,
we have been focused on calving ease and a mother cow that is truly
“moderate-framed” and “easy-fleshing”. We use EPD's as a guidline, but
try to keep from chasing the extreme growth numbers, as we believe this
will lead down the path to larger, less efficient mother cows. Our mature
cows are mostly 4 to 5 frame and average around 1225 lbs.
I think you will find that the bulls we offer are truly the kind that will
produce moderate, thick calves that will be sought after by feeders and for
replacement heifers. The bulls have not been pushed hard and are ready
to go to work. We want to help you build a cow herd to be proud of and
produce very high-quality calves that will exceed in the feedlot or on
grass. We're striving to produce cattle with built-in efficiency. We invite
you to come take a look at the bulls or the cows at the ranch, we believe
you will like what you see, and we look forward to visiting with you and
learning about your program.

rill Cattle Co. is owned by Jeff and Diana Grill and their three chil-
dren Chance, Taylor and Cade. We’re located in the very southwest corner
of South Dakota, approximately 23 miles south of Edgemont, S.D. We have
raised purebred cattle for over 20 years, manage a 1000-head commercial
cow-calf ranch in which we are able to test our genetics.
We’ve been involved with many different purebred breeds over the year
and truly love the convenience and marketability of the Red Angus breed.
We run our commercial and purebred cows in true “ranch” style with very
little help throughout the year. We’re confident that our commercial and
purebred cattle are as low cost as anywhere. It’s been very important to
us to watch and keep track of every dollar that goes into our cows. As feed
and other costs continue to rise, not many breeds of cattle or breeders will
be able to keep cutting costs and still find new marketing avenues to ever
make break even. I’ve been very happy with the Red Angus ability to
impress both cattlemen and feedlots in tough times.
We would consider it an honor to form a lasting relationship that will
most definitely improve your cow herd, and make your calf crop sought
after. Thank you for your interest and friendship.

ick Red Angus is located 20 miles southeast of O'Neill, Ne. It is run by Ed and Kathy Fick and Doug and Megan Fick and their children Hailey,
Holden, and Harper. I would like to thank Jeff and Brad Grill and their families for having us back for what is now our 3rd year with them at the Red
Western Sale.
Capacity, natural fleshing ability, and easy dispositions are a must for us. We raise our bulls
how we would like to buy them; in good shape but not fat! What you see is what you get. Our
calves receive no creep while on their mothers and our fed a high roughage diet through their first
winter to gain from 1.5 to 2 pounds a day. They then go back to grass where they receive no sup-
plement until they are brought back out of pasture usually in mid Oct. They are then put back on
a high roughage ration to prep them for going to Jeff's ranch at the end of December to be fed with
his bulls until sale day. We believe growing them slow will result in higher semen count, more
cows being covered, increased longevity with less leg and hoof problems, resulting in happier cus-
tomers. Our cows weigh between 1100 and 1300 pounds and are easy fleshing with a lot of capac-
ity. Our bulls have proven they can convert forage to pounds, saving your operation money from
input costs. Thank you for your interest in our program and continued interest in the Red Wetsern
Red Angus Sale. Please let us know if we can assist you in anyway with your Red Angus needs.
We look forward to seeing you at the sale!!!
Sincerely,
