SHOW & SALE
GENERAL INFORMATION
LOCATION:
Bruner Arena, Preble County Fairgrounds, Eaton, Ohio.
Eaton is located just south of Interstate 70 on US 127, about 15 miles
east of Richmond, IN on US 35. The fairgrounds are located on the
southeast edge of Eaton on US 122. Turn south on US 122 off of US 35
about two blocks east of the square in Eaton.
SHOW:
Friday, March 15 beginning at 8:00 a.m. EST with Steve Reid of
Houstonia, MO judging the show. The show order will be Polled Fall
Yearling Rams, Polled Spring Yearling Rams, Sr. Champion, Polled Early
Fall Ram Lambs, Polled Late Fall Ram Lambs, Jr. Champion, Grand and
Reserve Champion Rams followed by Horned Rams, Horned Ewes then
Polled Ewes in the same order.
SALE:
Saturday, March 16 beginning at 9:00 a.m. EST with Gary
Saylor (937-464-7214) or (937-597-7214) of Belle Center, OH and Danny
Westlake (937-642-2546) or (937-243-5111) of Marysville, OH selling the
sale. The sale order will be the same as the show order.

The Dayton International Airport is just 30 minutes from
the fairgrounds.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Cash or check on sale day. All buyers registering must present a valid
identification. Canadian buyers must pay in U.S. funds. Institutions may
pay by requisition. Sheep purchased by mail bid or phone bid must be
paid within 7 days of the Sale. The auctioneer’s decision will be final on
any disputed bids. All animals are at purchasers risk as soon as sold.
There will be a 20% charge on any non sufficient funds checks issued.
MAIL BIDS:
If you can not attend the sale, you may contact the Sale
Management to handle your bid for you. Phone bids or mail bids must
be approved by the Sale Management and if possible, the Consignor
prior to the sale. Whoever registers the buyer number will be responsible
for payment of sheep purchased. Sheep purchased by phone bid or mail
bid MUST be paid for, by good check or money order, with 7 days of the
Sale. Buyer is responsible for arranging shipment of sheep purchased.
MINIMUM BID:
There will be a minimum bid of $300 on all yearlings
and $250 on all lambs.
INTERNET BIDDERS / DV AUCTION:
The Ohio Dorset Sale will be
broadcast live over the internet through services provided by DV Auction.
To register to bid online, visit the DV Auction web site at
to obtain a username and password. You will need
to register with DV Auction to obtain a Buyers Number. This process
should be completed one week prior to the sale or by March 9.
PAYING FOR ONLINE PURCHASES:
Visa or Mastercard will be the
ONLY accepted methods of payment for any purchases made through
the DV Auction broadcast online unless other arrangements are made
with the Sale Management prior to the Sale. All credit card purchases will
have a 4% fee added to the purchase price. All monetary funding will be
in U.S. currency. The right of the property shall not pass until settlement
is made. All settlement must be made before any sheep will be
released. Transportation arrangements are the responsibility of the
buyer. Any questions concerning DV Auction should be directed to Roger

REGISTRATION PAPERS:
All animals are registered and will be
transferred to the new owner at the consignor’s expense.
HEALTH CERTIFICATES:
Individual interstate health certificates will be
furnished on all sheep.
SHIPPING:
Each consignor will be responsible for shipping
arrangement of sheep purchased on order. Contact Sale Management in
advance for assistance.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS – U.S. BUYERS:
Your local or state
veterinarian should be able to update you concerning health
requirements for sheep entering your state. The sale veterinarian will
prepare standard interstate health papers for transportation between
states, but it is the buyer’s responsibility to be cognizant of and adhere
to the entrance requirements for his own state. Entry permits can be
obtained from your state office, this can often be done prior to your
arrival at the sale.
SALE GUARANTEE
Except for those stated in the below guarantee, there are no
warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the
merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect
to the sheep being sold at this sale.
The warranties and the remedies provided therein shall be the
sole and exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any party claiming
through the buyer, for any breech or warranty or guarantee
therein provided, and all other obligations or liabilities.

Every ram and ewe sold will be guaranteed as a breeder if properly handled.
It shall be the responsibility of the buyer to return a non breeder to the seller
in acceptable breeding condition. The seller, after a fair trial and the animal is
found to be a non-breeder, shall have the privilege of replacing the ram or
ewe with one of equal value or satisfaction of the buyer, or refunding the
purchase price. This guarantee shall not apply to any sheep that are shown
subsequent to the date of the sale.

Notification of non breeder rams must be made to the seller prior to October
1 following the sale; notification of non breeder ewes must be made to the
seller prior to March 1 following the sale.

Any lambs who drop their lamb’s teeth prior to 12 months of age as
determined by their registration paper, shall be replaced with a lamb of equal
quality to the satisfaction of the buyer within a reasonable amount of time, or
the consignor shall refund the purchase price of the lamb promptly with all
fees and percentages levied against such a lamb retained by the sale. It shall
be the responsibility of the buyer to notify the consignor, and then the sale
manager, if such a problem occurs. Any consignor failing to comply by this
rule shall automatically be barred from consigning any sheep in the following
sale.

In the event any ewe represented as being open lambs within 140 days from
date of sale, seller agrees to refund to the buyer the full purchase price, or
buying credit, or replacement ewe, upon delivery of the ewe and lamb(s)
back to the seller.
5.
Neither the Sale Managers nor the sponsoring organization can or will assume
any responsibility as to the authenticity of the pedigrees or bloodline
information provided in the sale catalog, on pen cards, or otherwise, and the
subsequent genetic performance of any sheep purchased. All such
information must be accepted at face value. Any special guarantees or claims
offered by individual consignors is strictly between the consignor and the
buyer, and will not be enforced by the Sale Managers or the sponsoring
organization.
6.
This guarantee shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller only,
and no other parties assume any liability, legal or otherwise, expressed or
implied. The sale manager will attempt to assist in disputes if requested by
either party.
