Welcome to Ludvigson Stock Farms Seventh Annual Spring Edition Herdbuilder Bull and Female Sale.

The last year has presented a set of challenges for everyone in the beef industry. In these times of tri-

als and tribulations, we believe that “character” is built. Farm and ranch families possess the kind of

character that allows not only for “survival” but the ability to “thrive” in these situations. These times

do not last forever and as you look back through history, the challenging times have been the most op-

portune times for successful people. We will see paradigm changes in the beef industry from these

challenging times and we believe that we along with our customers will be a part of that change

through our genetic influences.

We have a very “top notch” set of bulls this year and as you study the catalog you will see that this is

one of the most balanced offerings to sell this spring. Our multi-trait breeding program emphasizes

optimization not maximization. We believe that providing bulls that are better than average for multi-

ple traits allow our customers to “hit” more of the targets that really affect their bottom line. Cow calf

operations are long term and with that in mind it is better to provide genetics that will have long term

positive affects. We think that this group of bulls provides some of the most optimal genetic packages

that we have ever produced.

We are again offering a small but high quality lineup of females from the top end of our cooperator

programs. These females come from some of the most famous cow families in the entire breed. The

females have been performance tested, carcass ultrasounded and developed to be very productive

brood matrons. In the past we have had many of these females go on to produce top herd bulls and

females in other leading seed stock programs. These females can run with the very best female offer-

ings in the country.

The bulls and heifers once again have been developed at the Big Sky Development Center. The bulls

have been fed a high roughage ration that allows the bulls to express their genetic potential and at the

same time provide an excellent condition for turnout. Our bulls are developed to adapt to any envi-

ronment or management program and you can feel rest assured that a “LSF” bull will hit the ground

running at your operation.

The sale headquarters again will be the Hampton Inn and Suites located just off I-94 at the Zoo Drive

exit on the west end of Billings. We will host a hospitality function the night before the sale at the

headquarters and we would like to invite everyone to join us. We look forward to seeing you the sec-

ond Saturday in April.
