Supplement sheet available at sale time.
A supplement sheet for both the heifer sale and bull sale
will be available on sale days. The bull supplement sheet
will have current scrotal measurements and updated or
corrected information from this catalog. The heifer sup-
plement sheet will provide additional heifer information
including lot numbers, recent herd health activity and
updated or corrected information from this catalog.
Sale order and how we sell our cattle.
Cattle will be available for viewing until sale time. Live
animals will not pass through an auction ring. An indi-
vidual video of each lot will appear on viewing screens
as lot is sold.

and Ultrablack females will sell. Some pairs will be split
and sell as two lots. Females will sell in catalog order.
On
Saturday, October 13, 2012,
at 11 am commercial
females will sell in groups of five (±) by consignor. Buyers
have the option to roll two pens of heifers at the estab-
lished price as long as the heifers are from the same con-
signor. After three pens, the price is reestablished
through the bidding process. Heifers will be available for
viewing on Thursday, October 11, 2012.
On
Saturday, October 13, 2012
, bulls will sell one at a
time. Bulls will be available for viewing until sale time.
Bulls will sell in sale catalog order beginning with lot 350.
Top quality bulls will sell throughout the entire sale.
Price Range of Bulls Reflect Quality
Bulls are sold in a rapid, steady pace with little conversa-
tion. Bidders need to be alert to keep pace in our bull
sale. The graph below represents the results of Cow
Creek Ranch bulls sold at auction the last 17 years.
Buyer Registration and Pre-Registration
Buyer numbers are required to purchase cattle in the
sales. To pre-register for a buyer number prior to the sale,
call Joy or Roxanne at 205/373-2269 or e-mail a request
to cowcreek@cowcreekbulls.com. Pre-registered buyers
may pick up numbers on sale days. One buyer number
can be used to purchase cattle in all sales. For on-site
buyer registration, please register upon arrival.
Absentee Bidding
We prefer for each of you to be in attendance on sale
day. Realistically, however, we know there are scheduling
conflicts. In these cases we can arrange for you to partici-
pate in the sale on an absentee buyer basis.
Simply contact a sale representative listed on page 1 and
let us know your interest and budget. A representative
will bid on the best animal possible for your needs within
your budget. Each year we bid on and buy bulls and
commercial heifers for customers who are unable to
attend the sale. Many customers have placed their trust
and confidence in our program by allowing us to buy
their animals year after year.
User Friendly Bulls
Bulls will be identified as “User Friendly” on the supple-
ment sheet. Certain bulls will be marked as UF (User
Friendly) if their temperament appears to be docile
under stressed or crowded conditions. The UF identified
bulls are highly recommended for single bull buyers who
handle their bulls in confined areas. (While Southern
Cattle Company makes every attempt to properly identi-
fy these bulls and errs on the side of caution when mak-
ing this determination, this is not a guarantee.)
