Health and Fertility
All the bulls have undergone a complete Breeding and Soundness examination following the latest
guidelines for Theriogeneology. Evaluations were completed in mid February even though a portion
of the bulls were not yearlings quite yet. All the bulls were evaluated using the guidelines for 12-month-
old animals. The ability to be classified as a satisfactory potential breeding animal at a younger age is
a reflection of the innate fertility in these animals. These animals were evaluated for visual and struc-
tual soundness. External and internal reprductive organs were palpated for anatomical correctness.
Scrotal circumferences were measured and semen was collected using electro-ejaculation. Semen was
evaluated for morphology and motility. All animals offered for sale today have been classified as Sat-
isfactory Potential Breeders.
All Heifers for sale have been found to have normal reproductive tracts via rectal exam.
Kansas is classified as a Brucellosis Free State. All eligible animals have been Bangs tested negative
and all heifers have been Officially Calfhood Vaccinated. All animals are ready for interstate trans-
port. If you are moving animals out of state, make sure to stop by and pick up your health papers.
If you have questions regarding the above procedures or the Health Program of Bar Arrow’s herd, I
will be glad to visit with you personally at your convenience.
