2017 Annual Production Sale
We think you will find a difference in Salacoa Valley bulls. You will find more herd sire prospects backed by proven dams and the
freshest and most powerful herd sires than ever before.These are balanced trait sires that are familiar with the concept of carcass quality
and yield.
All of these bulls are from the top cut. We designate these bulls for the sale at yearling time and as always, have allowed no one to purchase any
bulls out of this offering. This is also true for the November and December yearlings designated for sale in the spring. You deserve the best.
We have in this offering more top end range bulls than ever before. They are big footed, structurally sound bulls with more muscle. They come in a user
friendly package and have been developed in large grass traps featuring 100 feet elevation changes. They are capable of traveling the country and covering
your cows.
These bulls were developed with their longevity in mind. We know our EPDs say that very few bulls in the breed can match the performance bred into this cow herd and
the bulls represented in this offering. We feel an obligation to our customers to provide well conditioned herd sires for their registered and commercial operations that will not
melt when they are turned out and won’t break down in their joints because of the stress of getting too fat just to satisfy an adjusted yearling weight and adj REA contest. These
sale bulls average less than .25 ADJ fat at the time of scan, just right in our opinion.
We believe in studying ratios and EPDs in our selection decisions and using those values to drive our program forward, especially when bulls are combined from varying weaning
contemporary groups, locations and ownership. Both performance measures, ratios and EPDs, provide context when describing an animal. His ratios and EPDs will help accurately
identify the top bulls. After all, isn’t that what the real goal is?
We will always make available to our customers complete data sets that will allow selection decisions to be made based on the complete picture.
You can maximize heifer values through straight bred Bos Indicus influenced cattle of American Breeds. You can also maximize feedlot performance and carcass quality through
straight bred Bos Indicus influenced cattle of American Breeds in the same manner by applying selection pressure trough your bull purchases. Of course we feel you can achieve
both goals at Salacoa Valley.
You should also consider the opportunity to maximize hybrid vigor while retaining the percent Bos Indicus suitable in your environment, by cross breeding with two American
Breeds. In many cases this gives you a huge boost in heterosis because you are looking at 3 or 4 breeds in the mix as opposed to the conventional 2 when crossing Bos Taurus X Bos
Taurus or Bos Taurus X Continental. We have been calling this stabilized Bos Indicus influenced female and bulls the Super American. And for the first time we will be offering these
registered Santa Gertrudis X Brangus Super American in our fall sale.
Registered breeders, you will find herd sires here that will exceed cattle industry specifications for building cow herds, cable of siring herd bulls for the commercial cattleman that
will meet industry demands because we have chosen NOT to ignore the carcass traits. We believe that Brangus cattle should have muscle. We also believe that there is no excuse,
with the tools available, for Brangus cattle to fall short on IMF. After all, we and our cooperators are the providers of beef bulls to our commercial customers, who in turn are the
suppliers to Seminole Pride Beef. Muscle, quality grade and cows that can thrive in the real world are all beef bull essentials here at Salacoa Valley.

All the bulls in this offering have had DNA profiles run and those genetic codes have been incorporated into the EPD values represented on the bulls in this offering. This information
contributes greatly to the accuracy of the EPD values presented.
The whole goal in performance measurements, whether the reported values are weights and ratios or EPDs, is to reflect as accurately as possible the differences in a herd bull’s
ability to add the traits you are looking for to your cow herd. Contemporary groupings, ratios and EPDs are all an attempt to neutralize environmental effects on the numbers
presented. DNA allows us to go the next step in identifying true genetic value at a much younger age than ever before possible. With genomically enhanced EPDs, a young virgin
bull with no progeny can produce accuracy figures equal to a sire with 10 to 12 calves. As commercial cattlemen and consumers of seedstock, we have never had performance
values that as accurately predict the final outcome on our operations as we currently do, and after all isn’t that what you really want.We invite you to take advantage of our herd
