Dakota Drift is an outstanding Driftwood performance stallion backed by a pedigree built
upon AQHA arena legends. He has established an imcomparable record during his career
as a highly competitive, all-around performance horse and as a potent breeding stallion.
One of the greatest sons of famed rope horse sireWilywood, “Dakota’s” genetics continue
to concentrate the blood of noted South Dakota breeder Stanley Johnston in our program.
His double-bred Orphan Drift, three times Driftwood tabulation is supported by crosses to
Joe Reed II, Poco Bueno and Sugar Bars. Dam Wimpa Star Bar is a seven-eighths sister to
the dam of noted Barrel and Rope Futurity Champion stallion Sadies Frosty Drift.
Dakota Drift is a handsome athlete whose record in AQHA, NRHA and NRCHA events
establish him as a top all-around performer. He has won championships, money and points
competing as a reiner, cowhorse and standout calf and team roper under the trainers Mark
Wray, Brian Fulton, K.C. Jones, Doug Clark and Lance Shockley.
This dun stallion’s progeny, stamped like their sire, are standup, sound, attractive athletes
that express his incredible mind, disposition and ability. They include AQHA Performance
ROM, World Show Qualifier, ranch horse champion and team roping and barrel racing
money earners. Daughters are beautiful, program building broodmares.
