that South Dakota breeder’s complete effort to breed great performance and rodeo horses.
Oakwood is a beautiful Buckskin with great presence. A standup, strong performance horse
that moves with power, extension and natural ability, he is a trademark Stanley Johnston versatile
athlete in looks, stature and movement. We have used him to hand breed and pasture breed, both.
Oakwood is also an outstanding ranch horse that can work as a box-broke, arena head horse.
Oakwood’s five times Driftwood pedigree tabulates the potent Doc’s Jack Frost x Orphan Drift
cross that was the cornerstone for the Johnston program. His maternal line features the great mare
Miss Drift, a daughter of Driftwood x Oklahoma Star bred Oakwood out of Driftwood Ike’s
mother Hancock Belle. Oakwood Frost’s mother, Lady Jo Wood, is a franchise producer in the
Willow Creek band.
