Total Performance
Sale. We are very excited by this year’s offering. We continue to make
progress in performance, while maintaining structural correctness, moderate frame, fleshing ability and positive carcass traits. Most
importantly, the cows that back these lots are the right kind.
Total Performance
is more than a phrase at Wagonhammer,
it’s a Program. We are especially proud of this group of bulls as they are the top weaning weight group ever at Wagonhammer. Come
and see for yourselves!
CALVING EASE
continues to be our hallmark and we are offering 120 bulls designated Calving Ease with an average Birth Wt EPD of
0.1 and birth wt of 76 pounds. Furthermore, these bulls are bred for calving ease on the dam side for several generations which is the
key to consistency. Yet they have growth, muscle and power. Wagonhammer is the place to buy, whether you need bulls to breed
heifers, or want power bulls for your cows that still reduce labor at calving time.
Drought was a dominating factor in 2012 and looks to be again in 2013. It’s been tough and that may continue for a while longer.
It is important in periods like this to keep one’s perspective. Past generations survived the dirty 30’s and the dry 50’s and we have
advantages they never had.We have record high prices for all classes of livestock. We have ddgs that enable us to utilize poor quality
forages. Most importantly, the sheer ingenuity of ranchers when faced with challenges never ceases to amaze me. When the drought
is over, there will be excellent demand for cattle as the herd must rebuild. So, we’ll just have to do what it takes to get through this
because exciting opportunities lie ahead. Now is the time to build for the future and a Wagonhammer bull can be an important
contributor to your ultimate success.
