Dear Friends:
I would like to welcome you to the 20
th
annual Bull Sale conducted by the
2013 UNL Beef Cattle Merchandising class. This sale is the culmination
of many hard hours devoted by the Merchandising class and represents
student involvement from start to finish. This is truly their sale. As al-
ways, our job is to produce a unique learning environment for students
and commercial bulls that will work for you.
Our offering includes calving ease bulls, bulls that can moderate milk
production in their daughters, and bulls that can increase marbling for
those that sell on a grid. Our Husker Blacks and Husker Reds offer the
opportunity to simplify crossbreeding systems so that you can benefit
from hybrid vigor without complex breeding systems.
This sale requires a great deal of effort year-round by numerous people.
We would like to thank our ARDC Cow-Calf crew, Karl Moline, Man-
ager, and Jeff Bergman along with all the student employees. Also,
thanks to the ARDC Feedlot crew, Dirk Burken, Manager. We certainly
could not have put this together without Clyde Naber, Manager of Live-
stock Operations in Lincoln and his assistant Brent Johnson.
To all those in attendance, we thank you for your support of our sale and
our teaching
program here at UNL.
Matt Spangler, UNL Teaching Herd Coordinator & Instructor, Beef Cattle
Merchandising Class.
