Welcome from Thorstenson Hereford Ranch,
We would like to extend a special invitation to be with us on
Saturday, April 13, 2013 for our annual production sale at the
ranch.
It has been a challenging year for many with the dry condi-
tions throughout the country. Hopefully, moisture will come in
2013 and allow everybody to charge on.
The bulls and heifers went through a very dry summer this
past year. They were raised by their mother’s milk and dry
grass…no commercial feed or creep feed. We still had respect-
able weights and our genetics held up.
This group of bulls is some of the best bulls we have raised.
New sires introduced along with Thor have produced a tremen-
dous set of bulls. THR Thor 4029 has continued to escalate
in semen sales. This past winter he has sired an International
champion…Grand Champion heifer at both Canada’s Agribition
and Denver National Stock Show! We will have bulls and heifers
by Thor in our sale.
We are sure grateful for the good comments on our bulls and
heifers. One of our customers reported the sale of black baldy
heifers bringing $1,275 weighing 781 lbs…a tremendous sale
and testimony to using Hereford bulls on black cows!
Another feature in our sale is 30 registered yearling heifers.
They are right from our replacements and should make excellent
cows. The heifers have been bangs vaccinated and have had
their pre-breeding shots. They are ready to breed.
Feel free to come and look at the cattle any time. If you can’t
make to the auction, we will be broadcast live by DVAuction on
the internet.
