Roland Hudson stresses curve-bending Angus genetics in his breeding program and utilizes AI and
embryo transfer in his operation.
Growing up around farming, Don and Kent each had goals of being in the cattle business some day and
bought their first commercial cows in 2005. In 2010, they purchased their first registered Angus, and
now are up to 105 head, still predominantly commercial. Their cattle are run and managed together, but
individually owned. Don and Kent are building a strong base of Angus genetics, utilizing AI as well as
natural service in their breeding program.
McLand Angus is a Historic Angus Herd, founded with Ronald’s 4-H heifer purchase in 1954. They have
utilized performance testing and AI since 1977. Running a highly selected 15 cow herd, they have sold
cattle into 5 states over the last few years, with several heifers winning championships in junior local and
regional competition throughout the Midwest.
The Martin family has been involved with a commercial cow herd since 1980, and have just become more
involved in the purebred business in the last ten years, marketing a few bulls privately. Nathan has been
caring for the Trust Breeders herd for four years now.
Raised on a dairy farm in Cole County, Mike has raised crossbred cattle with an Angus base for over 30
years, going into registered Angus in 2006. Mike runs about 50 registered cows, utilizing AI and embryo
transfer, and generally produces eight to ten quality Angus bulls to sell each year.
Dan’s children make the 4th generation at Neil Angus, and they have owned registered Angus cattle since
1949. They have long been a source of registered Angus bulls in North Missouri, and develop them with
commercial producers in mind.
Matt and Mia just bought their first registered Angus females in the spring of 2010, and are now running
50 registered Angus cows. Manager David Kestler and his father Wayne, strive to pursue the highest
quality Angus genetics for this growing herd. While still a young operation, they hope to continue with
sensible growth that will allow them to become a name recognized for producing quality genetics that fit
into the plan of any Angus operation while maintaining appeal to the commercial cattleman. They look
forward to the opportunity to meet and work with each of you.
The Spicknall family has raised cattle in northeast Missouri for over 70 years. They purchased their first
registered Angus in 1996, with the goal of producing functional cattle with good disposition and eye ap-
peal. Maintains Certified Brucellosis Free Herd #1926 and has Johne’s Certificate #MPC0073.
After years of breeding and showing registered Arabian horses, the Rhodes became involved in cattle
production in 2003. They began their registered Angus herd in the fall of 2007 with the purchase of 14
open heifers. Their herd is now maintained at Centralia, Missouri, under the care of Nathan Martin.
