Mark started with registered Angus cattle in partnership with his father, Bob, operating under B&M
Angus, in 1976. Mark and Cindy produce 10-15 bulls per year, and utilize AI and embryo transfer in their
program.
Blair ran commercial cows for many years, and that herd is now used as recipients for progeny of the
Borkowski donors. A small base of registered Angus cows was started 6 years ago, with the goal of
developing a high quality product, incorporating several SydGen sires both AI and natural. They believe
their embryo transfer program will increase their quality to an even higher level.
This is the 50th anniversary of Borkowski Angus Farm, with almost 30 years on AHIR. Most of his cows
run on the home place at Elliot, IA. Some donors are run at Blair Carney Angus, with their progeny owned
in partnership with Blair at Adair, IA.
Located in the rolling hills of southern Illinois, the Chamness family has been in the registered Angus
business for 12 years, and using SydGen genetics since 2004. They strive to improve their herd through
genetic selection, herd health and nutrition. They have a website at

The Coon family has been raising purebred Angus cattle for 45 years and presently represents three gen-
erations. The operation consists of 150 cows with a focus on producing bulls for commercial customers
with a select group of females available at the farm. Russell is also a certified ultrasound technician.
Albert and Jennifer’s children are the third generation at Double A Angus Ranch. They have been in the
Angus business for 18 years and have sold cattle, semen and beef into 17 states. They currently market
bulls and females privately and at regional consignment sales, as well as 30 sides of custom beef per
year. The ranch was named the 2011 NEMO BCIA Breeder of the Year, and Albert was selected to par-
ticipate in the 2011 American Angus Association Beef Leaders Institute. Albert also serves as Secretary/
Treasurer of the Mississippi Valley Angus Association.
Eggers Stock Farm has been in the registered Angus business since 1964, growing from early involve-
ment in 4-H and FFA. They currently run about 75 cows, mostly registered Angus. Market steers are sold
to USPB, and genetic selection emphasizes performance, carcass traits and fescue adaptability. Certified
Brucellosis Free Herd #750.
In the registered Angus business for 32 years, Graupman Angus sells 30-35 bulls per year. They have
consigned several top-selling and A- graded bulls in the NEMO BCIA and the MO BCIA sales. Kris is a past
President of the Missouri Angus Association.
Henke Farms has raised Angus cattle in Chariton county for four generations. They have utilized AI since
1999, and are beginning to use embryo transfer. Charles and Ron sell about 70 bulls per year and also
sell breeding heifers at the farm.
