collected, and sold on the USPB grid to collect

Low stress handling techniques are routinely
used in the management of the cowherd and
growing calves. Cattle are conditioned to be
worked horseback, and checked with 4-wheeler
or on foot. Particular emphasis is placed on se-
lection for breeding stock with a calm disposi-
tion.
The marketing focus concentrates on produc-
ing 14 -18 month old registered Angus bulls for
the commercial industry. Bulls and females are
merchandised by auction the second Wednes-
day in March each year and also by private
treaty sales. The Stucky’s have also recently
joined forces with several other Kansas Angus
producers for a joint fall female sale held the
first Saturday in October.
The ranch’s success is enhanced by the ability
to provide customers with animals that produce
predictable genetic results, and then follow up
after the sale with superior customer service.
Gordon’s passion for the Angus industry is evi-
dent with his involvement in the American An-
gus Association. He currently serves as Vice
President of the Board for the Association, and
has served as a director and is a past president
of the Kansas Angus Association. Gordon has
held leadership roles with the Kansas Livestock
Association and the Beef Improvement Federa-
tion. Since 1996 Gordon has served as chair-
man of the Kansas Angus sponsored commer-
cial female sale at Pratt Livestock where 1,000
head are offered annually from top producers of
Angus genetics.
Stucky Ranch is now owned and operated by
Gordon Stucky and his family and represents
the fourth generation living and working on the
ranch. 2013 marks the 24th registered Angus
