Welcome to our 56th annual bull sale here at Sodak Angus. Although 2012 was a year of record drought for most of the
northern plains, we were blessed with continued record high livestock prices. Strong markets coupled with diminishing
livestock numbers further documents the importance of quality genetics within our cow herds.
We especially want to thank all our customers, friends and neighbors for their support of our breeding program. We truly
cherish all your friendship and appreciate your thoughts and advice which guide future decisions here at Sodak.
This fall the Sodak cow herd has completed the transition to a fall calving program to better accommodate the cattle with
their environment and reduce labor needs. Our 2013 sale offering is entirely made up of Fall 18 month old bulls developed on
summer range during their peak growth period. With this high roughage development program the bulls are subjected to more
rigorous culling for growth, soundness and disposition. Only the top of the bulls complete the 18 month ranch bull test and
are ready to cover more cows in your pastures with fewer injuries.
This year the Sodak lineup includes several new popular bloodlines including Hoover Dam, Mytty In Focus, SAV Bismarck and
HA Image Maker. Many of the bulls are sired by some of the past proven sires of Sitz Upward, SAV Final Answer, HA
Program and sons of these popular bloodlines. Red Angus sires include CBR Rumbler, 5L Summit and CBR Ram Rod, all of
which have been siring tremendous performance, maternal and carcass traits. The 2013 offering consists of many half-
brothers capable of minimizing genetic variation and maximizing profit within your operations.
Whether looking for a special herd sire or a truck load of bulls we believe you will find the selection to be second to none. As
always Sodak bulls carry a first breeding season guarantee and are fed and delivered in the Spring.
Again this year’s offerings have been videoed and are available for viewing at sodakangus.com. The bulls will be penned for
your personal inspection on sale day and will sell via video board in the sale barn. DVAuction will also be available for online
bidding assistance.
