Dear Angus Enthusiasts,
We, THANK YOU, for your interest and support of our operation. There is no better business to be involved in than
one in which your customers are your friends. We are thankful for all of our friends and for every day that we can do
what we do!!!
We, at Smith Farms, are excited to host our first “Coming Home Sale” at our new sale barn facility. This being where
the bulls have been raised and developed, our hope is the new change will make the sale transition less stressful for
all bovines and humans!
SALE BARN LOCATION is one mile North of Smith Farms Rock, on Hwy 87, or (eight miles South of Hay Springs)
turn East onto 490th Rd for one mile, then turn South ½ mile, you have arrived at a red and white Barn on the West
side of the Road!
Smith Farm’s progeny comes to you, backed by 23 years of in herd AI, attached to performance data, acquired from
conception time thru the hanging rail. We count on “performance from the cow NOT the creep feeders.” Our opera-
tion does not survive on show, but on function.
We are often asked, “How are the bulls doing? Are they better than last year’s?” We’ll let you be the judge of that.
However, there are some real favorites in the group that we feel are herd bull prospects, thick topped, deep and func-
tional, that will leave behind a great set of females providing a long lasting impact on your bottom line.
Bull selection simplified….Know your target markets….. Be it feeder calves, yearling, value based grids, or replacement
heifers, that fit your operation. Decide which direction you need to take your operation knowing that your cows live and
reproduce in your environment. Use the EPD’s provided to help predict the ability of these bulls to move your cow herd
toward the target you have set. Most of the time pounds are still what we have left in the end.
