Welcome to the Rhodes Fall Calving Female Fiesta!
As the United States begins to recover from one of the worst droughts in
this country’s history, a lot of changes have happened in the beef industry.
Cow numbers have been cut drastically, bull inventories are very tight and
ranchers, for the first time in their lives, are beginning to fill their empty
pastures from scratch. Ironically, during this time period, the Red Angus breed
has continued to grow. As ranchers begin starting their herds over, many are
choosing Red Angus instead of something black-hided to begin their future
with. The Red Angus breed has “come-of-age” within the beef industry. If you
have never seriously used or looked at a Red Angus animal, I encourage you
to be in Emporia, Kansas on June 23rd. Some of the breed’s top Red Angus
cattle will be on the auction block due to the extreme drought in Kansas the
last several years and every cattleman in North America has the opportunity to
restock their pastures with Heat Tolerant Red Angus cattle.
I consider June 23rd an honor in my auction career. The Rhodes Red
Angus program has diligently amassed a top Red Angus cowherd within a
relatively short time period. Darryl has been a buyer in many of my past
auctions, and I always know he will have the top cattle identified and either buy
them, or “make a serious run at them” during the auction. This auction may
contain as many genetics from the now dispersed Buffalo Creek Red Angus
program and Beckton Red Angus herd as any in the past or future. Both of
these operations were instrumental in Darryl’s meticulous assemblage of the
Rhodes program and both are elite genetics and founding herds of the Red
Angus breed. As you study this catalog, please feel free to give Darryl Rhodes,
me, or any of the buyer representatives a call at any time with questions you
may have. This is a very elite set of Red Angus cattle that you won’t get a
chance to buy at auction very often.
We do have an excellent staff assembled for this sale. My compadre,
Bryan Mackenzie, from North of the border will be on the block (yes I will limit
his speech lengths) with auction commentary and our ring staff is willing and
able to represent cattle to you. Again, feel free to call any of the listed numbers
with questions regarding any of the cattle in this auction and if you want to
place bids, call me at 641/ 919-1077.
I look forward to seeing you in Emporia, Kansas on June 22nd and 23rd !
