Mr. Anderson went storming down the road and pulled into the Smith’s yard
and slid to a stop throwing gravel. He bounded out of the pickup and stomped
up to the farmhouse door and knocked. Eight year old Tommy answered the
door.
I would like to have a word with your father, Mr. Anderson demanded. Tommy
replied that his father was not home. After a short pause, Mr. Anderson asked
to speak to Tommy’s mother. Once again Tommy replied that his mother was
not there.
Mr. Anderson thought for a few seconds and forged ahead. Mr. Anderson
explained to Tommy: “My daughter is dating your older brother Howard and
my daughter just told me that she is pregnant.”
Tommy took the news in for a few seconds and then replied: “I know dad gets
one hundred dollars for the use of his prize bull and fifty dollars for the use of
our new Duroc boar but I don’t know what he gets for Howard.
