calving ease and mature cow size. We have an intensive objective
measurement program that includes strong records, strict culling
standards and carcass measurement identification using ultrasound
technology. Our cow herd has a 60 day calving season for mature
cows and 75 days for virgin heifers. The herd is culled religiously
for fertility, disposition, utter quality, structure soundness, and calf
raising ability.
We have an aggressive embryo transfer and complete herd
AI program. Some of our donors include MS New Direction 17R5,

You can probably tell we are proud of our cattle, but don’t
take our word for it. We invite you to join us March 23 for our
female sale. Stop in for a visit, share a meal with us, and evaluate
the cattle yourself. We know you will not be disappointed and hope
you will come to appreciate the cattle as we do.
We have semen available on most of our bulls. Do not hesitate
to contact us if we can be of any assistance.
Sincerely,
E.D., Bert and Doyle Miller
Miller Brangus is owned by E.D. Miller “Dad”, along with
sons Bert and Doyle, and located in lower middle Tennessee, just
northeast of Waynesboro. The Brangus part of the cattle operation
started in 1981, when Dad purchased the ranch’s first registered
Brangus bull and 25 commercial Brangus heifers. He had decided
upon Brangus due to milk value, calving ease, heat and parasite
tolerance, ample growth and the ability to thrive on fescue. His
insight into this practical breed set in motion a program whose
primary purpose was to strive to become one of the premier seed
stock producers in the industry.
Our ranch is a beautiful place but can be very tough. We
have brutal winters with snow, ice, and sub-freezing temperatures.
Our summers can be extremely hot and dry often experiencing
droughts and temperatures in excess of 100 degrees. Our ranch is
very hilly with significant changes
in elevation in any given pasture.
It can be a harsh environment,
but that is the very reason I feel
confident our cattle will work for
whoever owns them because they
have already passed the test.
Through the years we have
built our herd through select
acquisitions
from
various
programs such as Camp Cooley
Ranch, Coldwater CattleCompany
and Mound Creek Ranch. Today
we have an impressive herd of
approximately 400 registered
Brangus females and commercial Brangus recipients.
For numerous years we were cooperators with Mound Creek
Ranch out of Leona, TX. Our bulls were marketed through their
annual bull sale where our bulls always exceeded the sale
averages. Even though we had good success there, we felt it was
time to go our own way and develop our own identity. We felt there
was no better way to do this than to have our own bull and female
sale.
Our breeding philosophy is “Pounds on the Ground”. What
that means to us is that we want to put as much weight on a calf as
fast and efficiently possible without sacrificing other traits such as
