We have video taped the bulls and they will be available for inspection on our web site,
prior
to the sale.
As always, the bulls carry a first breeding season guarantee. If you have any problems let us know and we will do our
best to make it right.
The bulls will be taken to the sale facility on Wednesday. We will not be putting the bulls through the ring as they sell.
They will be displayed on video screens.
The bulls will sell in catalog order. Except for the first few bulls, we pretty much lot tagged them in random as they
came through the chute, so there are top bulls throughout the offering.
We think the condition of the bulls is about right. They’ve had enough feed to express their differences but they are
not fat. On a ration designed for a 3 LB/day gain, the whole group had an average gain of 3.3 lb./head/day.
As most of you know, we run our cows in the Sandhills in a cake and range situation. We expect them to come
through the winter with no supplemental feed, other than cake, until calving time. This year Brad and Paula’s place
was one of the stops on the Sandhills Cattle Association tour in January. Several on the tour said they couldn’t believe
you could winter cows that way and have them in such good condition. I think some of them still don’t believe us!
I have never been much on writing footnotes. I have always believed in giving our customers all the good honest
information we can and let them make their own decisions. We will help in any way we can if you have any questions.
I will say, I believe there are several genuine herd bull prospects here, and at least a couple we would like to collect
after the sale to use in our own program.
The calves are tagged, tattooed and weighed at birth, and every calf is weighed the old fashioned way – with a scale.
If you have any questions about the bulls or anything else about our program, don’t hesitate to give us a call. Hope to
see you in North Platte on March 14th.
