Spartacus is a calf that we all enjoy owning. He is a genetic specimen. His dam was purchased
from the Ashworth program. KWA 105U has produced an elite calf on every turn. Her first calf
RLD 9X is a superstar female in the making, her second calf sold in our 2012 sale to Ashworths
and her third is standing before us. We flushed 105U over the summer of 2012 and are anxiously
awaiting calves. The maternal sister to KWA 105U, led the Shades sale off in 2012 and we
were fortunate to bring her to join her sister at Double Bar D for $24,000. Spartacus is sired
by the most consistent herdsire we have had the pleasure of using, Double Bar D Gunner 1W,
a son of CMS Tequila 719T. This herdbull candidate isn’t by chance. The genetics are deep
and the phenotype is amazing.

Gunslinger is as deep and stout as any in the sale. Again, sired by Gunner 1W, and this time from
a very productive Hummer daughter, he combines some great maternal and powerful genetics.
Gunslinger is very close, nearly mistakable, for Spartacus. I can’t say enough about the potency
of thisgenetic package. With just a mere 84 pound birthweight and pressing down the scales at
836 for weaning, this curvebending bull is certainly worthy of serious consideration as a herdsire.
