Harold Hurt of Terra Firma Farms in Kentucky inaugurated
the 128 cow family at Cow Creek Ranch. That original
female, 128Z, was sired by DMA Champ 533. Like most all
the pedigrees in our offering the 128 cows come stacked
with genetics from our triangle breeding system. The 128
females selling in this dispersal are young females that
have their most challenging years behind them.

This cow family came east
across the Mississippi with
our purchase of the Segars
Farm Brangus herd, Texas.
From there, the path is a bit sketchy and it takes
some turns and twists. If memory serves, while John
McKnight was managing Whitehall Plantation, Louisiana,
he purchased a 13 cow family female from us, which then
terminated our 13 cow family line at Cow Creek Ranch.
Later,Whitehall Plantation dispersed their herd and we
bought 13F2, a descendant of the original 13 cow they
purchased from us. So, the 13 cow family emerged again
here at Cow Creek. Two of these cows, 13M2 and 13S3,
were selected by South Americans as donors for our
International embryo program.
