Customers, neighbors and friends,
As always, welcome to Byergo Angus anytime.
Each year brings on a variety of things, many good and some challenging. To get it out of the
way, first the drought was and still is a challenge. But as you watch good cattle respond, it’s inter-
esting.
Every bull in the sale is out of a dam raised at Byergo Angus. Only eight of these bulls have
fewer than eight generations of Byergo dams. The rest of the 80 bulls have from 8 to 18 genera-
tions of Byergo production.
The 2012 bulls went through the summer doing well, and responded very well after fall tem-
peratures came. I think you’d be impressed. I was impressed watching and hearing that many of
the top-selling lots at different marketing places were from our sires. Many had dams by our sires.
They weren’t just getting a top price, it’s when they also weighed 700 to 800+ lbs. The success of
our customers is important to us. To cattlemen looking for females, you’ll see some of the mates to
those steers that topped sales in our customers’ heifers that sell in this sale.
I think consistency is important. I think you’ll see it in our bulls, our customers’ heifers and the
herd of momma cows backing these bulls; we are very proud of consistency in our cowherd.
The last but not least important note in this letter: I want to thank everyone who sent a letter,
a card, stopped by or called when I returned home. Thanks to my sons for all they had to do, and
the neighbors and friends who we have always tried to be close to. My special wife (her help and
prayers) as well as all the other prayers.
