There is so much power here. A huge-bodied, wide-
structured one, that will gather a crowd. Of course, she is
sired by the National Reserve Grand Champion Bull that is
a full brother to the last National Champion Bull – TR PZC
Turton and the last two National Champion Females Fire
Girl and Ivory Angel.
The cow family of this stout January heifer was the greatest at
the former Camp Cooley Ranch in Texas. Her 2002 dam was
Summit’s choice from that herd and she has put ET progeny into
the herds of Summit, Southern Cattle Company and Silver Spur
Ranches. The Duke 17J’s were the best maternal daughters of
any sire at Camp Cooley. Then on to the maternal granddam JDJ
Ms Perfect G166, she was Camp Cooley’s $19,000 “Choice of the
Herd” from DeBruyker Charolais in Montana and she was worth
the investment. 57 progeny are registered out of her at AICA.
Manager Roy Miller has had his eye on this heifer since birth.
At one month of age he took me to look at her saying “I want to
show you something special.” This late summer she hammered
the scales down at 895 lbs. adjusted weaning weight. When it
came time to pick a National Sale heifer for Fort Worth there
was no other choice!

This great January show heifer prospect comes to Texas
not only with tremendous show ring potential, but per-
formance heritage beyond belief! CCC Ms Trendy Bud

does several things right, starting from the ground up.
She is a square, true footed heifer that is wide-chested and
comes out of a smooth shoulder into a bold soft rib. When
you stand behind her you realize just how powerful she is
while still looking the part from the side profile.
Now, let’s talk about what this maternal, performance
driven pedigree can do after her show career is over. Her
sire is the current National Reserve Grand Bull and the bull that a
one-third interest sold for back in March for $32,500 to Broberg
Charolais in Nebraska and to Rocky Meadows Farm in New Hamp-
shire. His name is indicative of his abilities as his progeny are defi-
nitely “heavy” on the scales.
The dam of this heifer adds a great part of the performance fac-
tor into the mix. She herself, weaned off with a 689 lbs adjusted
weaning weight. Her first calf, a bull was born at twenty-two months
of age and she weaned him off to an adj. 205 weight of 748 lbs.
Her next bull calf had an adj. 205 day weight of 830 lbs and sold to
Vedvei Charolais where he is doing a nice job. Her 2011 heifer calf
weaned at 781 lbs. to ratio 113 and this heifer weans off at 694 to
a 111 ratio. There are not many females in our breed that have
pounded them off like that! Take this heifer into the show ring
and then on to your embryo program.
