I am honored to be a guest consignor at the Amdahl Angus sale. A few words about our cattle. We live in short grass prairie of eastern Montana. We do not farm,
hay, irrigate, fertilize, or creep feed. Cows calve out in the hills, heifers calve closer to home. Any bull calf which requires assistance at birth becomes a steer. We are very
strict in our culling, especially in first calf heifers for udders,disposition, mothering instict, and structural correctness.
Our cattle graze native grass year round with minimal supplementation. Cake and/ or hay as needed helps our cattle through tougher winters. All additional inputs need
to be freighted in at great expense. Cattle that work best for us are moderate framed, easy fleshing, and fertile with excellent udder and teat size. Homer, Echelon and Rally fit that
criteria. Their calves are light birthweight vigorous calves that jump up and suck with laser like focus to their mothers bag.
