Founded in 1982 with 6 members. Today there are approximately 60 members. The North Dakota Gelbvieh Association (NDGA)
sponsors the annual “Golden Rule” sale. This sale is one of the longest running, most successful state association sales in the
nation. North Dakota ranks 4th in the nation for active cows and 5th in the nation for registered cows. According to the American
Gelbvieh Association (AGA), North Dakota is the most aggressive state in the nation for promoting the Gelbvieh breed. NDGA sup-
ports the North Dakota Junior Gelbvieh Association (NDJGA) with a designated state show and scholarship fund.
